1st Spyware Removal.com says

‘The U.S. House of Representatives passed “Securely Protect Yourself Against Cyber Trespass Act,” also known as Spy Act. Hijacking a person’s homepage and keystroke logging are prohibited under this bill.

The House also passed the “Internet Spyware Protection Act,” this bill penalizes those who use spywae to commit fraud, steal information or damage a computer - punishment ranges from fines to prision sentences. ‘

Which I honestly don’t think it will make a difference in Browser hijacking. Wasn’t it just last year that the CAN SPAM Act was supposed to deture all this spam in our mail boxes. It seems that nothing has even changed though with Spam. I wrote a detailed overview of ways you can help yourself to fight spam at its source.

I don’t think its ever going to end. As a matter of fact I think spam and spyware is only going to get worse.

People are motivated by money and that is never going to change. Regardless of whether it’s ethical or not. If some affiliate is going to pay an advertiser $1.00 per install or per .50 cents click on a web site made just for the soul purpose of income people are going to continue promoting the stuff.

I think part of the problem is the affiliates and the way they approve the advertisers. Granted cj.com and linkshare.com are detailed about who they accept and who they do not. It’s these small affiliates who do nothing about it. I personally think they turn the other cheek and allow it to happen. They will only intervene when it is needed to make them look good.

Media Tickets is an example but they are much more cleaner than some of these other per install affiliates. Just so I can prove a point that spyware wont stop, here is an email from Media Tickets to me when I was once an affiliate.

Need I say more… Money is the motivator. That’s why we will never see the end of spyware. People are always going to find ways to exploit your browser to install this stuff with out your permission.
