Roseanne van Langenberg over at Marketing Defined has the skimmy on what is going on with the Google Page Rank and says…

‘No you have not been banned by Google .. the Google Tool Bar has not been displaying any Page Rank since around Friday 27 May .. when we noticed the Google Tool bar with Page Rank greyed out!

Trust Rank to replace Google Page Rank?

All the leading SEO forums are tossing up between Google changing Page Rank as we know it to: Trust Rank. As soon as we have an official word from Google, it will be posted on this Blog.’

I would guess so because most SEO firms have based much of their client success as to what their page rank is. Building a good page rank is quite difficult. It requires you to obtain many links to your site that have equal or better in page rank. Or at least thats how it was understood.

eg. 50 pages linking to your site with a page rank of 1 would give you a page rank of 5.

It seems only logical to change the game and call it something differnt now. Many SEO firms have done some pretty sneaky tricks to improve their clients page rank. You just have to do your homework to know who you can trust and who has your web site’s success in mind. I wrote an article a few days ago about search engine optimization a few days ago. I stated

‘ SEO or Search Engine Optimization Company can be an invaluable asset in your Internet marketing campaign. They specialize in knowing how to raise your search engine positions, monitoring those positions on the regular basis, and adjusting their strategies to account for undesirable results in any given month. Since this takes a lot of time, effort, and specialized knowledge, it can be in your best interest to go to an outside source rather than try to maintain high search engine positions on your own.’

Which is so true. Just do your home work before you make your decision.
